Medicinal Plants Collection

 

Medicinal plants are said to treat and heal a number of illnesses including burns, food poisoning and everyday aches and pains. This special collection of medicinal plants will also create a colourful and aromatic display in your garden. 

Available as either a collection of 28 Super or 12 Jumbo Ready Plants containing a mix of the following medicinal plants- 

 

 

Echinacea Purpurea

These bright carmine-red flower heads are great for treating burns and wounds. An effective detoxicant with antibacterial properties. This plant has general stimulatory effects on the respiratory and immune systems. Flowering time is from July through to September. Height of 100 to 120cm.

 

 

 

 

Symphytum Officinale (Comfrey)

This vigorous perennial plant treats cuts, sprains, sores, eczema, varicose veins, bruises and broken bones. The roots from this plant can be used to make a tea to help a wide range of discomforts. Flowering time is from May to August. Height of approximately 120cm.

 

 

 

 

Verbena Officinalis

This beautifully delicate plant can be used in teas for treating headaches, depression, fevers, nervous, exhaustion and gall bladder problems. Flowering time is from June to September. Height of approximately 100cm.

 

 

 

 

Chamaemelum Nobile (Chamomile)

These daisy-like flowers can be used to make herbal teas as a remedy for problems with the digestive system and as a sedative to aid sleep and relaxation. Flowering time is from May to August. Height of approximately 20 to 40cm.

 

 

 

 

Arnica Chamissonis

Many of you will be familiar with the use of arnica in herbal medicine. The same things apply with the ultimately natural plant as they do with the manufactured cream. Only meant to be used externally the flowers can be used in compresses for sprains and bruises or as an ingredient in salves and oils. Flowering time is from June to August. Height of approximately 60cm.

 

 

 

 

 

Prunella Vulgaris

 A purplish blue flower that blooms from May to October. This hardy perennial plant can be used to treat high blood pressure, sore mouth and throat, food poisoning, high blood pressure, fever and diahorrea. It also has an antibacterial property. Height of approximately 45cm.
